THE VANQUISHERS
BATTLE OF THE GIANTS
Present: Thunderstorm, Fiery Meteor, the Apparition, Oracle, Bluebottle, the Victor, Sea-Hawk
In the headquarters (The back of a large truck) of the guardians of Earth, the Vanquishers:

FIERY METEOR: I say we act NOW! <slams his fist down> Oracle, you say that the magician Darkspell draws his power from Dargon - long-time enemy of your Mentor.
And the one called Aqua has already smashed half of downtown Sea City in his desire to destroy the MERMAN (Marine Environment Research-Mutant Orientated Network) Complex.

THUNDERSTORM: But do we need to act now, Fiery Meteor? I am concerned at the damage the one called Thunderflash brought to the Green Desert but still, no-one was harmed.

SEA-HAWK: But now that ship hovers above Capitol City, Thunderstorm! Let us strike NOW!

ORACLE: Ah, Sea-Hawk.  You are ever the call to action.  However, this time I must concur.  From what Mentor tells me, this world must never allow Dargon to fully establish himself here.

APPARITION: And what do the Police think of this, Bluebottle?

BLUEBOTTLE: The top brass are concerned but their hands are tied.  There's no way they can get up to that tin-can spaceship, so I say it's up to us.

VICTOR: Yaay! Go the all-conquering Vanquishers!  Let's kick that little Green Avengers bottom!

THUNDERSTORM: So it's agreed <Thunderstorm slams his fist> We WAR!

APPARITION: They don't appear to have the same togetherness as us, so best we split up and take them individually.  Thunderstorm, you're our most powerful member, so only you can match Thunderflash.  Sea-Hawk - your water-borne powers means you're up against Aqua.  Remember to use your speed.  Victor and Bluebottle - use teamwork against the Leopard-Man - and beware those claws.

VICTOR: Aw, I wanted the little Green one!

APPARITION: No, he's mine!  I've had a run-in with him before - I know how he works.  Meteor, that leaves you with Apollo.  His strength is prodigious, so battle from a distance.

METEOR: He'd have to be the real Apollo to stand against my flames!

VICTOR: But how do we find him, boss-man?

BLUEBOTTLE: If I can interrupt - my police contacts can track some of them down

ORACLE: And I can enter a glamour to seek out the more powerful members

APPARITION: And let's face it, they won't be hard to find if they continue their pattern of violence.

AQUA v SEA-HAWK
<Sea-Hawk is flying towards a desert island where Aqua is sitting still.  The weather is very hot and tropical.>
S-H: Oracle managed to find Aqua through some mental link-up.  Well, mind-powers won't save him from the wrath of the last of the Marinite Warriors
<S-H sets down behind the meditating Aqua>
Terror of the Seas!  It's time to face your nemesis!

A: You are the one named Sea-Hawk, yes?  I have your poster on my wall.  Why do you disturb my contemplation?

S-H: I come to defeat you Evil one!

A: I am not evil and have no wish to fight.  Would you like some lemon tea?  I find it rather refreshing.

S-H: Tea?!  On your knees!

A: I will not submit - I only desire the company of friends

S-H: Then you should chose you company more wisely.
<They lock arms - S-H is easily thrown aside>

S-H thinks: His strength is colossal! Let us see then how he stands against a blow from a Marinite Warrior.
<S-H locks arms, punches Aqua in the stomach then punches his jaw.  Aqua swipes S-H causing him to be thrust aside.  S-H wipes his mouth, completely stunned.>

S-H: Mayhap the Apparation was right.  My warrior training and innate speed will see a swifter end to this battle.
<S-H flies at A and knocks him sideways with a double-fisted blow.  Standing against him, A attempts to punch S-H but S-H ducks and aims blows at A's stomach before flying away.

S-H: So now do you submit to the last Marinite Warrior?

A (staggering): N-never!

S-H: No? <Flying at A, S-H lands another double-fisted blow. A is reeling but standing.

A (thinks): the sun is too hot here.  Need water to return my strength.
<S-H flies and punches.  Stopping to attack.  In speed, beats at A's jaw, belly, neck and back before flying off.  A is near to collapse but doesn't>

S-H (obviously enraged): Fall, damn you! FALL!
<S-H flies at A but instead of punching, he blasts him with his 'water cannon' power emanating from his arms.  A is revived.  He connects with S-H as he flies towards him, knocking him unconcious.>

A: Why so full of rage, Sea-Hawk?  Why not drink lemon tea instead?  I must talk with Dargona about angry men - my fellow humans are very strange.  And where is Marinite?
