Marvel
UK Buoyed on by reports of British comics selling
in the region of A MILLION sales each per month, Stan 'the Man' Lee withdrew
the rights for the likes of Odhams to reprint American Marvel material and
set up the British end of the House of Ideas. Despite sales, Marvel UK
was thought of more as a tax loss rather than a serious business.
Still, if nothing else, Stan was enthusiastic and eager to spread the pull of
the Bullpen, so ultimately an all-UK character was eventually published -
namely Captain Britain. Eventually, British creators became quite a
