IPC/ Fleetway Egmont
Originating from the amalgamation of Odhams and Amalgamated Press, Fleetway
brought us some impressive characters in the 1960/ 70s, such as the Spider,
Trigan Empire, Steel Claw and Adam Eterno. However, the rise of punk led
the way for new editors, Steve McManus, Pat Mills and John Wagner, to create a
new breed of comic with Action (banned for its violence), Battle (blood, guts
& pacifism) and 2000AD (banned for flagrant disregard of corporate
trademarks).
